Satellite
On Saturday I ordered up satellite service for my lovely new television. The appointment for hooking up to the service is between 8am and noon on Wednesday, which is just in time for the season premiere of Lost on Thursday night (season 4, if you're counting) and of course the Super Bowl (XLII, if you're counting) on Sunday. Not to mention the Tarheels next game which occurs Thursday, against Boston College on ESPN HD. That'll be the first sporting event I'll watch on high density!
I didn't watch the last season of Lost and I don't expect to watch it this year either but I will check out that first show just to see how much trouble the old crew is in. Preceding the season premiere at 9pm is a overview show at 8pm for folk like me that got too bored with the damn show. Season 3 just didn't grab me at all.
TY Guide, after each show description these days, has a brief mention in red print of how many new shows are left. I guess it's a good time for me to have gotten satellite since now I'll have plenty to choose from. Most people might have seen all this crap before, but for me it'll all be new. :-)
Has anyone watched that new Terminator show, The Sarah Connor Chronicles, on FOX? I watched about 15 minutes of the first show and thought it so annoying that I deleted the show from my recording menu. Should I have given it more of a chance?
On the shopping front, I slipped yesterday and made a purchase at Overstock dot com. One of the items I bought, pictured over there on the left has already been shipped. Neat. Ordered at 3pm and on a UPS truck by 6pm. Gotta love service like that. That's even better than Amazon and so much better than that god damn Barnes and Noble. B&N sucks. They're like Dell. They both suck. :-p
Back to the pleasant topic of shopping, I bought 3 other items on Overstock but none of them were a waffle iron. Sorry, Chris. LOL I wrote Chris a note about a very pretty Wolfgang Puck waffle iron that was on sale 'cause she loves waffles. However since I don't like waffles at all, I didn't buy it. The Puck immersion mixer did grab my eye though as did a panini press but my willpower was sufficient to keep me from buying the panini press. Let's not talk about the immersion mixer. Sore topic right now.

love love love..
I'm not known for my cooking though..
I'm heading over to overstock.com!
As for Sarah Conner - My husband wanted to watch it and we have seen the first 3. I don't really care for it, but it is not totally terrible. The robot chick is from the movie Serenity, which I liked ok. She does seem to be getting more and more robot-y as the show goes on. She fooled John into thinking she was a school mate in the first episode, but can't manage to fool anyone in any of the subsequent episodes. We will probably watch a few more and see if it get's better. Since the writer's strike there isn't much else on.
The Spouse Thingy loves the show, though. I mean, REALLY loves it...
