Creme is the one

Image
Way back when, in the days that I was a little kid, my Mom would buy the generic soda at the Grand Union ---as I recall, the symbol on the cans was a penguin--- and my favorite flavor was the creme soda. Every once in a while I get a jones , if you will, for the taste of that creme soda. Not many companies make that flavor anymore so when I happened to notice Creme Soda from Jones Soda Co in a Food Lion yesterday I couldn't resist buying it. I think I've mentioned on here that I'm often on the frugal side. So my first criteria was price---and the Jones Soda was the same price as the generic, surprisingly enough. As soon as I picked it up I discovered why. Instead of coming in a 12-pack, the cans were packaged in an 8-pack. So in reality the soda cost 50% more per can. But it was worth it to scratch that psychological itch. Since my legs are still driving me nuts with physical itchiness I certainly don't want psychological itches bedeviling me as well. Above you could se...

May is a nasty month

Every so often I eliminate some food from my diet for a period of time. It's partially in the name of losing weight, partially good health, but mostly just me being obstinate towards myself instead of others (for a change). My method every time I do this is to not buy the food items in question--using the reasoning that if I don't buy it I can't eat it. And it's a lot easier for me to not buy something so that when I get those nasty cravings, I'm too lazy to go out special to get said items. It works for me 'cause I hate making special trips like that. This time around I'm eliminating soda, kid cereals, and salty snacks. I ran out of chips 2 weeks ago, soda on Saturday, and kid cereal about 5 days ago. Tonight is the first bad night--soda is the thing that is hardest for me to do without--but I suspect the next 4 weeks will see me lusting after soda a lot worse than tonight. The damn stuff is so cheap and wonderful. I can't quite remember why I even eli...

Summer Pepsi

Image
I love soda. And I like Pepsi a whole lot more than Coke. However... If you see this nasty stuff--just run! It's a temporary product that Pepsi is floating in some markets. It's supposedly normal Pepsi with some citrus tastes blended in. If you ask me, this is probably slightly filtered cat piss. Where is the FDA when you need it? They're off trying to keep the genetically modified tomatoes in line when they should be saving the American consumer from cat pee in shiny blue cans. *gag* Anyway... there were a few comments on Wednesday's meme asking about my situation regarding Ren and a few Emails from people that apparently were either shy or didn't want to be labeled shallow. LOL I might just name names here! Frankly, I really had no idea my life was interesting enough to spark questions but here's the answer for those few that actually are curious. Ren and I had been going out for just over 3 and a half years and the past year I'd really not been paying e...
