Thanksgiving
Happy Thanksgiving 2005
I do love a sale and at 27 cents a pound I just had to get an extra. Don't feel sorry for the extra bird--he'll only spend a few weeks in there alone. Just enough time for me to recover from that first feast. My apologies to any vegetarians out there--seeing two dismembered birds might be disturbing. To the rest of us it just makes us hungry. Mmmmm.
This picture commemorates the end of a different bird.
Last weekend my girlfriend and I baked a 4 pound "roaster" chicken and had a candlelit dinner complete with a nice Reisling. My favorite vintage, slightly sweet and fruity but not too sweet. I did a post on this Reisling last month.
In two hours we'll be off wandering into the NC mountains in search of a welcoming hearth along with one of Renée's sons. I hope y'all have a safe haven in which to enjoy this holiday as well.
Don't forget that turkey has high levels of tryptophan. That amino acid can really make you sleepy so remember: don't eat and drive! Maybe there should be an organization against turkey driving? LOL

And this veggie is not disturbed by two shrink wrapped turkeys. Of course, if you were to deliver them dead and bare, I might gag a little.... :-)
have a nice holiday

Tryptophan not only makes you sleepy, but it's also a mood enhancer... So, I actually take it in the form of 5-HTP regularily (daily). It's a great amino acid for all sorts of reasons... Not the least of which, in doses that I consume, it really cuts back on carbohydrate cravings.
Have fun for your turkey day!
Hope you had a good Thanksgiving!
Happy Thanksgiving!
I hope you & your family had a wonderful Thanksgiving. Be careful with that turkey! Mom just tolded me it's got a sleepin drug in it! She shoulda tolded me afore....zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz
But now I'll just say hope you had a good one!
Glad you had a good holiday and good for you for buying two turkeys. I don't think you can ever have too much turkey, and I like it all during the year.
You know, Oregon has some nice vineyards. Go see if your local liquor store has Bridgview wineries Blue Moon reisling. It is really nice - perhaps my favorite, and nicely priced. If you do try it, I would love to hear what you thought of it.
