barney


I spent Thanksgiving at my girlfriend's parents' house. It was just the four of us and her brother & sister-in-law. Oh, and Barney.

That's him over there on the left.

I took a few pictures of him but the best two are represented here. Which one do you like better? Ears up or down? LOL

Women can be really funny about how their hair looks but Barney seemed pretty willing to have his ears do anything they pleased. If only women were so compliant... I'd have some VERY interesting pictures since hair can be even funnier than ears.



If you're wondering why Barney looks so vigilent, it was partially due to the strong scent of turkey and pork in the air--and of course because he's a very friendly fellow and always willing to put on a show for a little attention. And man can that dog jump!

He looks a lot more serious with his ears down, doesn't he? And those serious soulful eyes!

Yep, Barnie's adorable. Those are eyes a person could trust. He looks more puppyish with his ears down don't you think?

Ear up he looks adorably quirky! Ears down, you're correct, the serious Barney. But his fur is so shiny, it really makes him look well manicured. So I'd have to say the soulful serious Barney is my favorite. :-)

If I were thinking of getting a dog (which would tick the cats off to no end) I would totally want him...

He's cute, not matter which way his ears fly. Up, he looks like a feisty, full-of-energy little guy. Ears down, he looks like "Mr. Innocence." It's certainly nice to be able to pull off both those looks.

wow i hate dogs and even *i* think barney is a cutie. i'd go with ears up, tho. down is just to pitiful a look to credit - the same puppy dog eyes i used to give to my parents when i couldn't have ice cream without finishing dinner first.

Adorable doggie. (I'm a dog person through and through.) I like both pics, but the one with the ears up caught my eye, reminding me of how expressive a dog's ears are.

It was just the 4 of us for Thankgiving, but it was still great. I already love 3-T's blog as a regular reader for quite a while. This guest posting thing is new but interesting.

Flappy dog ears just cost me about $700. So I vote for down. And sewn into place. Dogs tht flap their ears around get blood blisters, apparently, and the only way to fix it is surgery.
I know, not the question, but it was only on Tuesday that I had to fork out the money, so it's still raw.
But it a cute dog, though. What breed(s). (Not that I'm implying that his mom is a whore, but you know how dogs are)

I mentioned a few days ago that I'd purchased off of Craig's List an exercise machine. A Nitroflex, to be more specific, for the grand sum of $75. The boxes you see to the left were bought by the seller as discontinued merchandise over a year ago and stored in his back yard storage shed. You might be able to see some of the bugs and such that had made their homes on these boxes. I left them out on my deck for a few days before opening them to allow the insects to leave gracefully or die in the sun. The picture to the left is the pieces from the box, unboxed, and up in one of my upstairs bedrooms. For the most part it wasn't difficult to move it around though two pieces were heavy and a number of them were kinda long and bulky to be wandering about the house with. Surprisingly, this kit didn't require any extra tools. There were two allen keys and one combo wrench included in the boxes and that was all it took to put it together. ankle update

S ince a few people object to seeing my feet --poor misdirected souls--I have the two pictures below hidden behind links. Behold them at your own risk! *evil laugh* Actually they're not scary though the first one is a little colorful. T he first picture shows my ankle and foot from the side, as labeled. You can see a lot of general edema of the entire foot. There's also a good bit of discoloration of the ankle area and to a lesser degree the top of the foot all the way down to the toes. The side view is a lot worse in this regard than the top view. T he second picture shows the two feet from the top so you can compare the somewhat normal looking right foot to the injured left foot. There's not much abnormal color on this view but you can see the "sausage like" swelling of the left foot. It's this swelling that is causing my main problem--I can't get the foot into my boots and I need the boots to support the ankle. Damn Catch-22. Side view, looking inward ...

Ostrich poop found here

I took these pictures last Fall while visiting the NC Zoo. On the left you can see what appears to be a nice polite ostrich just wandering around. This impression soon turns out to be false when her dowdy tail feathers raise up and reveal a puckered anus. Ewwww! If you look carefully, you can see that she's made a deposit on the ground. More ewwww! Feel free to click on the image to make them bigger. Details can make all the difference in these shots. In other matters, aren't those really bony legs they have? And couldn't they have a little more color?
