April Fools Day
This is the one-year anniversary of my blog. I wrote my first post on April 1, 2005. I now have 311 posts on here. I started this blog just to pave the way for my girlfriend who wanted to start up a blog and asked me how to do one. Oddly enough she's only posted a dozen times in the past year while I've posted almost every day. But I've always been kinda gabby...
I don't have anything planned for today with the April Fools theme. In fact I don't think I've played a prank in honor of the day since I was a fairly young kid. Instead, today will be a day of lawn mowing, food prep, and television watching. Maybe a hike but that's not likely.
Lawn mowing: I've got an acre of land and every year when the mowing starts it nearly kills me since I get so out of shape in the Winter. Wednesday, after work, was my first mowing session and I only did about 20% of my yard and was quite sweaty and out of breath. Even when I'm in better shape later in the Summer I rarely ever do even 50% in one session but only managing 20% is quite sad. I do have to drop some weight. Speaking of that...
Food prep: I hit Wal-mart with my girlfriend last night and got a few items we'd need to make bruchetta so that's on the board for today. I had everything I needed for pita bread already so the plan is to make the bread first and then make tuna salad filled pitas, bruchetta filled pitas, pizza pitas, and also French bread type bruchetta. I guess today isn't the day I start losing weight, huh? Especially with all that feta cheese. I do so love feta.
Hike: while we're probably not going to go anywhere, there's a chance of Sarah Duke Gardens. They have such beautiful flowers there. I'd really like to go there and take a lot of pictures but it'll be even prettier once the tulips are all out. Only about 20% of mine are in bloom so far but Durham is a little warmer than where I live so maybe all their's are out...
So what's on your plate for today? (and would anyone like to come over for some pita and bruchetta?)

By the way, my husband hated mowing our 3/4 acre yard too...it took the better part of a day for him. Boy was HE glad we moved to a house on a small lot!
