Free Day

I think February 29th should be a holiday. Leap year only happens every 4 years.

Why are we working on a special day like this??? The average person only experiences 18 February 29ths in their lifetime. As a result, I think we should do special activities on this special day. Like eat candy in front of the television--my own version of celebrating the quazi-uniqueness of the day.

What would you be doing today if you didn't have to work?

What I am actually doing today is setting up two computers I bought for some new post-docs we have in the lab and making some graphs for an article we're going to submit for publication in two weeks. Exciting day, huh?

I agree!

I'm not at work but that is because I am doing my MBA project. Your plan sounds like far more fun! :)

BTW - in response to your comment on my blog, my final project is not a team effort. It's just me, piles of books and a computer. Which is how it's been all along as I am doing it via distance learning. It can get quite lonely and I miss the interaction with other students.

Absolutely. To celebrate today, I ate french fries and pickles in front of the computer. It was totally special because for the rest of the year I am not going to permit myself pickles and french fries. At least that is my plan. Whether I have to will power to follow through is unclear.

I'm not "at work" but am slowly working on a project. Mainly, I'm doing housework today -- a little laundry, dishes, etc. I've been looking around the web for a good donut recipe. Can you help me out with that?

I'm not doing any leaping today, but at least it's putting off March and my fretting about losing that hour next weekend (damn that Bush anyway!).

Being the geek at heart that I am... making graphs for a publication sounds like quite a bit of fun to me.

I agree! Last Leap Year I wrote a story about a lady who was turning 20 finally after being alive for 80 years. It was a really fun story.

Have a great weekend!
