Fall television season

I was really tired last night so I went to sleep early for me, at 1am. So, I woke up at 5am which is several hours early and I'm posting on here to fill the time. This is why I tend to go to sleep around 4am--I can't seem to get more than 4 hours sleep in one go.

There's a bunch of new shows starting up this Fall that I'm going to try. I don't have high hopes for most of them--in terms of my liking them, that is. I don't try to guess which ones will get canceled. That seems to almost be random each year. Good ones get canceled, bad ones too--and bad ones don't get canceled and some good ones survive also. Random.

Monday new: Chuck; K-ville; Samantha Who?; and Journeyman. The returning shows I'll watch are: How I met Your Mother; Heroes; and Rules of Engagement.

Tuesday new: Reaper and Cane. The returning show is NCIS. Tuesday is a much quieter day for me than Monday, it seems.

Wednesday new: Back to You; Pushing Daisies; Bionic Woman; Kitchen Nightmares; Dirty Sexy Money; and Life. Returning show is 'Til Death.

Thursday new: none! However there's a bunch of returning ones: My Name is Earl; Ugly Betty; 30 Rock; Scrubs; and ER.

Friday new: Women's Murder Club. Returning shows: Num3ers and maybe Las Vegas.

Saturday: Nothing at all.

Sunday new: Viva Laughlin and on the returning front there'll be Cold Case and 60 Minutes.

I'll give all these 2 or 3 episodes to grab my attention then I'll start winnowing them out. I doubt I'll end up watching even a third of them. The big gap here is The Amazing Race which won't be returning until early 2008 and Jack Bauer and 24. I miss them already.

The only new debut show this week from a network is Fox's Nashville. Country music gives me hives so I'm avoiding that one. The new show that I have the highest hope for is Reaper, but I'd like Cane to work out as well as Dirty Sexy Money. I just don't know if the writing will be as good as the actors in those last two. On the returning front, the show I want to see the most is Heroes. Lotta action in that one.

Most of these shows are debuting in late September so I'll know by mid October if I'll want to keep watching them. What shows--if any--are you looking forward to?

I think that I am not really looking forward to anything new. I think that I will watch Chuck, Bionic Woman, and Life, but that is about it for the new stuff. I have a pretty full schedule with all the returning stuff anyway. Monday seems to be the heavy day with both NBC and CBS having stuff I want to watch at the same times - thank goodness we have that wonderful DVR!

Do you watch Boston Legal? If not, I would get the first two seasons on DVD and watch them before starting the new season - but it is a great show, full of wit and fun and silly! It is on Tuesday's on ABC!

I bought the first season of Boston Legal around a year ago and still haven't watched it, Smug. I'm terrible that way--buying DVDs and then not watching them.

Well, Jack certainly seems to be enthusiastic about the show. Personally I have some doubts but I'll give it a try.

Definitly will watch Dirty Sexy Money and Cane, maybe Reaper. The 3rd season of MeerKat Manor started a few weeks ago and already there have been deaths, illicit sex, and fratricide so I'm not sure how much more drama I can take with the new shows.

Do you ever watch Grey's Anatomy? It's still popular here, but I never got involved.

So much information! I know I'm going to be watching Dirty Sexy Money. I hope it doesn't get too silly -- the previews are getting kind of sensationalist as we near the debut -- because I really want to like this one. I'm also hoping to like the Grey's Anatomy spinoff. Otherwise, I have to check what's on when and will plan to at least give some of the ones you mentioned a try. Last year, I didn't become attached to very many shows and the ones I did were cancelled. :-(

I have never heard of a few of those shows though. I guess I'll have to investigate...

Call me a gek, but I am looking for to seeing Bionic Woman I think the marketing for it has been GREAT. I also can't wait for Heroes to start up again. I just hope I can find it in Germany.

you make no mention of LOST utenzi! i'm still upset that i have to wait till january for season 4 to begin!

also, i'm hooked on WEEDS and HEROES. i don't watch TV at all though (all these shoes i watch online) so it's hard for me to get into new shows!

PUSHING DAISIES sounds promising in a SIX-FEET-UNDER way

Watch those Boston Legal shows, Dave, and do yourself a favor!!

I want to see Mad Men, which has already started on AMC on Thursdays. It got a good review on a blog I read.

I actually considered watching pushing daisies. The rest.. I've never seen. Some i've never even heard of.. I don't watch tv.. It can't hold my attention long enough.

I rented the DVD for the 1st 4 Heroe shows but didn't get to watch it...I wanted to be ready for this season since everyone loves it so much. I also have the past 4 or 5 new WEEDS episodes that I haven't been able to get to. The only TV I've taken in is Bret's Rock of Love. I'm addicted to that one and like most addicted people I drop everything to run to it. You didn't mention the Office, surely it is returning. That is my favorite...
