meme time

I got tagged with a meme by Tiff who runs an amusing blog named "No Accent Yet". The name refers to Tiff's move down here to the Southern USA--she lives near Raleigh around 40 or 50 miles from me--and her supposed lack of a Souther drawl. Since I've never heard her voice I only have her word for that tho.

Here goes, first with the rules and then with the answers and THEN with the tags.

1. You have to post these rules before you give the facts.

2. You must list one fact that is somehow relevant to your life for each letter of your middle name. If you don’t have a middle name, use the middle name you would have liked to have had.

3. At the end of your blog post, you need to choose one person for each letter of your middle name to tag. Don’t forget to leave them a comment telling them they’re tagged, and to read your blog.

My middle name is Paul so I've got to come up with 4 facts --relevant ones, apparently-- as a result. Oh joy.

P: prickly. People tend to annoy me so I stay away from as many of them as possible. Since there's billions of people and I've only met ten thousand or so of them, I guess I'm doing okay. I can't afford to be a hermit so working cloistered in a research lab is the next best thing. Tiff used to do work like this so she probably knows what it's like.

A: argumentative. As poor Chris is discovering, I like to have things well defined and don't mind arguing a mite until those definitions are unearthed. Poor kid. I've got a couple of degrees in philosphy and virtually everyone I've ever known with a philosophy degree loves to pick apart ideas and concepts--essentially arguing. It's great fun.

U: ungulate. Actually I just like the word. It means hoofed animal and I assure youI don't have hooves. But it sounds neat and I can't come up with a U-word to describe me. Anyone else have U-ideas?

L: lazy. This is one that Tiff used also and I can assure you it applies to me as well. I also hate changes in state. That is, I don't like to get up in the morning--or go to bed at night. I don't like to get in the shower--and I hate to get out. However I can't say I ever regret going home from work... so the lazy thing applies there.

Anyway, that's PAUL. Now I have to nominate 4 others for this meme. And they are:

Sassy (she needs topics to blog about)
Judy (who's planning on doing it anyway)
Rosemary ('cause I think she'd be very interesting)
and
Tanya ('cause she's so darn cute!)

This was an interesting meme. My middle name is seven letters long, with two sets of double letters, and another letter used twice. I think it would be much more challenging for me.

You don't strike me as the lazy sort, truly.

Yay!!

Bench work is great for people who dont' like people so much. You can in, do your thing, play with the numbers, and go home. Nice and quiet......

I like the definition of lazy that you use. Overcoming intertia is a terrible things, isn't it?

U words shouldn't have given you trouble... it's the A I thought would be difficult -- apparently not. Try "UN" anything, dear. Like... "Un"derstanding or "Un"cooperative. LOL

Thanks, Dave (or should I say Paul?)

I will get around to that meme in a day or two. I worked for 10 hours today and I'll be back there tomorrow. Whew! I'm getting too old for that!
