Hell's Kitchen

Girls and boys, it's almost time for season 3 of Hell's Kitchen. Prepare your sensibilities to be shocked 'cause nasty ole chef Gordon Ramsay is going to hit the airwaves again Monday June 4 at 9pm (est) on FOX. I can hardly wait. Last season was quite good despite Ramsay's continual bad humor. No doubt Season 3 will be even better.

This time the winner (survivor?) gets the coveted title of Head Chef at a new fine Italian restaurant at the luxurious Green Valley Ranch Resort in Las Vegas. Green Valley Ranch is the sister property of the Red Rock Casino, where Season Two winner Heather West, pictured to the left, is currently working as senior chef at Terra Rossa restaurant.

Notice that Heather's not head chef--nor is she at the premier restaurant that she initially was assigned to. Apparently somewhere in the conditions of being on the show is a possibility of being demoted--even if you won the head chef spot.

Anyway, here's the list of the Season Three contestants:
  • Aaron, 48, a retirement home chef from Palos Verdes, CA
  • Brad, 25, a sous chef from Scottsdale, AZ
  • Eddie, 28, a grill cook from Atlanta, GA
  • Josh, 26, a junior sous chef from Miami Beach, FL
  • Rock, 30, an executive chef from Spotsylvania, VA
  • Vinnie, 29, a night club chef from Milltown, NJ
  • Bonnie, 26, a nanny/personal chef from Los Angeles, CA
  • Jen, 26, a pastry chef from Hazelton, PA
  • Joanna, 22, a chef's assistant from Detroit, MI
  • Julia, 28, a short-order cook from Atlanta, GA
  • Melissa, 29, a line cook from New York, NY
  • Tiffany, 27, a kitchen manager from Scottsdale, AZ

We get the US series shown over here in the UK too and last year I was rooting for Heather from the start as she was so determined and worked hard for it. We've currently got Gorden Ramsey's "The F Word" on Channel 4 (as per usual he swears a lot and annoys me by saying "Yes?" way too often!), but that doesn't stop me watching it!
AS excited as you are for HK, I'm ecstatic that, unless I read that side of the bus wrong, TOP CHEF comes back in June! WHOOPEE!!!!!

I haven't seen that show. But it sounds better than the other survivor shows that I also haven't watched.

Nikki, I've heard that the original shows over in GB were extremely raw. The versions that they do here in the States are supposedly tamed down quite a bit--which is a scary concept 'cause I didn't watch most of the first season due to Ramsay's bullying and language.

Carli, I've never seen Top Chef but I do like food oriented programs so maybe this season I'll watch.

Sage, this is the second reality show that I watch. I also see The Amazing Race. I've never had any interest in that Survivor show which is the one most people focused on tho these days I guess it'd be American Idol.

Enjoy the show! I'm a big fan of Gordon Ramsey's -except for the swearing- and watch his shows here in the UK. I've got his cook books too, but I'm more of a 'read them' than 'use them' kinda gal.

Enjoy the show, Dave.
I don't watch Ramsay - I can't stand his constant swearing and bad behaviour.
I was stunned when he blithely said 'I don't swear in front of my children' - which kinda illustrates where he holds his audience and colleagues in esteem......

Michele sent me to say hi before I hit the sack here in nasty cold rainy England.....
