feral cat attack

While out photographing nature in all its glory this weekend I was accosted by a wild animal. Feral cat, to be more exact. This fearsome critter reared up and tried to peel the flesh off of my very bones. Fortunately there was too much protective fat and I was able to make my escape while that ferocious feline licked my toothsome well-marbled flesh off of his claws.

Later on, having learned my lesson, I stuck to well groomed domestic kitties. Here's one now that is daintily having lunch. Note the darling tongue. A sure sign of a happy and well fed cat. Not one that will attack your leg for no reason at all--this type of cat makes the best photographic subject. I'll leave those wild ones to the people at National Geographic.

After his repast, our furry friend posed for a few pictures on the deck railing. Isn't he precious?

I'm deeply impressed: while a wild cat was clawing your leg, you pulled out your camera and captured the scene. I, on the other hand, would have been a little chicken. I would have run. Fast. No camera for me!

And it was an amazing picture to boot!

The last picture is superb. There's something remarkably unique about the munchkin's face. The light, the angle, everything about this picture just works.

I so very much hope to hang out with and take pictures with you someday. Something tells me that would be a day to remember.

I hadn't seen it before, Marian. I was expecting the cat to jump in after a while but he never did. Pretty smart albeit disturbed cat. I'd hate to have their waterbill!

Thanks, Carmi. As you probably realize, I just take a lot of pictures and post the occasional good one.

That cat needs a water fountain.

Tabbies rule.

The tame one is very pretty! I suspect the "wild" one wasn't so very wild, but whatever you say, Dave....LOL

I love photos of animals with their tongues sticking out. My fave picture of my dog has him licking his chops.

Ah, the wild tiger. You're lucky it didn't climb to your shoulder and head and use you for a lookout.

Sweet photo with the tongue. That's hard to catch.

I really like your photographs when they are not of bees. I can never get a decent picture of my dog and kitties. Any suggestions?

Ah, the feral kitty was just begging for food. Most ferals wouldn't get that close to a human. I expect he is an imposter, a grifter.

Darn good thing that orange cat couldn't reach much higher. I suspect that focusing would be an issue if he could....

Good eyes, Oreo. Indeed that is Bad Penny aka Pippin. Evil to the core, I might add. Those claws you see in that picture are the claws of death!
