Autumn Still Life

This is a picture taken of the dying remains of plants on a birdfeeder in my backyard just off of my deck. I took it this past Thursday after engaging in what might have been the last mowing session of the year. Yeah!

I like the fuzzy softness of the plant in the foreground as balanced by the harsh grains of the lumber in the background and angularity of the wood and leaves. The balance of the different tones of brown emphasize the changing of the seasons.

I love this picture. What kind of camera do you have? I will be in the market, soon. The twins dropped the digital camera on the floor and now it's unhappy.

I've got a Panasonic Lumix FZ-5, Nancy. It's not very expensive--something like $300 from a discounter--and works nice for a non-SLR camera.

Lovely contrast of textures.

Nancy's question reminds me of my mum. I could win a pulitzer prize for photography and she'd say, geeee, you must have a good camera. ;) No harm intended by her or me of course.

I must have a fair amount of confidence, Pearl, because I never even thought to interpret Nancy's comment that way. LOL

You should consider putting some of your photos on Istockphoto.com...stock photos can earn some nice cash.

This picture is incredible. I think you may be in the wrong line of work Utenzi.

I'm speechless. I'm used to great photography from you...but this one takes the cake.

It's a great learning process for me to cross images and words with other folks who appreciate the craft as much as I do. Thanks!
