Sunday

*yawn* I didn't get much sleep last night either. I slept for a bit in a post-coital haze from 1 to 2:30am then some snoring woke me up. Once up, I decided to go back to the Tickled Pink book. I'd only read the first 2o pages and was curious about it.

I'm happy to say that it's not just a good start. The book reads quite well past there. I'm now half finished and I really like it. It helps that I've long admired the author, well known standup comedian Rita Rudner, but you don't need to be familiar with her to enjoy the book. It's quite well written.

We had quite a thunder and lightning show roll through here around 5am. I lost electricity for almost a minute so there's a lot of clocks that need to be apologized to so that they'll stop blinking. Drama queens!

It's still raining pretty hard but that's okay. We need the water and it's a nice break from a few days of hot weather. It's just under 65 now and it feels pretty good. I opened all the windows when the temp dropped around 4:45am and there's a good breeze going though the house now.

Well, one more round at Michele's with Marian and then it's back to bed for a few hours. Zzzz. (maybe)

It's so hot here at the moment. We're due a thunder storm tomorrow.

Hope you've had a good weekend.

Awww....linky love!

You thought you'd just slip that "post-coital haze" past us and no one would notice, eh?

I've been sick too....but aren't getting the same kind of "medicine" that you are!

Here by way of our pal michele...

I like listening to unabridged Books on CD when I can and Tickled Pink is read by Rita Rudner herself. It really brings the book to life hearing her dry intonation read the very funny book. I always pictured Uma Thurman as Ursula for some reason. Maybe Scarlett Johansson instead. Rita would be too old to play herself, but maybe some younger up and coming comic could do it justice.

I'm watching a movie I like "Elizabeth Town." Don't know how it turns out yet. So far quirky people and some tears because someone lost their father and I did this past November.

I like the new header. Michele says hi.

You've definitely gotten tongues wagging with the pc haze word choice. Good one!

You've reminded me that it's been too long since my burg, the so-called thunderstorm capital of North America, hasn't had one in a while.

I almost miss the meteorological drama.

I love that idea, Yellojkt. I normally don't like books on tape but Rudner would bring a lot to the show in this case. I've got a gift certificate for B&N and I might use it to get the tape. Thanks for the suggestion!
