Unruly Children

Whenever your children are out of control, you can take comfort from the thought that even God's omnipotence did not extend to His own children.

After creating heaven and earth, God created Adam and Eve. And the first thing he said was, "DON'T!"

"Don't what?" Adam replied.

"Don't eat the forbidden fruit.." God said.

"Forbidden fruit? We have forbidden fruit? Hey Eve..we have forbidden fruit!"

"No Way!"

"Yes way!"

"Do NOT eat the fruit! " said God.

"Why?"

"Because I am your Father and I said so! " God
replied, wondering why He hadn't stopped creation after making the elephants. A few minutes later, God saw His children having an apple break and He was ticked! "Didn't I tell you not to eat the fruit? " God asked.

"Uh huh," Adam replied.

"Then why did you? " said the Father.

"I don't know," said Eve.

"She started it! " Adam said.

"Did not! "

"Did too! "

"DID NOT!"

Having had it with the two of them, God's punishment was that Adam and Eve should have children of their own. Thus the pattern was set and it has never changed.

There is reassurance in this story!

If you have persistently and lovingly tried to give children wisdom and they haven't taken it, don't be hard on yourself. If God had trouble raising children, what makes you think it would be a piece of cake for you?

This cartoon is for Heather. I think it accurately portrays the blogging style of cats if they actually did the writing. LOL

Thought for today: In the beginning, God created the earth and rested. Then God created man, and rested. Then God created woman. Since then neither God nor man have rested.

Mom agrees whole-heartedly with the God as a parent story! AND, she is laughing out loud (REALLY) at that cartoon. I don't know why...I don't find it all that funny........

Too funny! Where do you find this stuff! Having both children and pets, I got a good laugh. :D
However, as far as the Thought of the Day goes, let's just say I wear my Honey-Do whistle around my neck!!

I'm afraid I stole it, Sue. I usually attribute my source but I lost the URL when I copied the text and wasn't able to retrace my steps.

Well, it's very entertaining, I really enjoy reading your blog.

To answer your question: Alpacas - the yarn is very soft, nice to hold and pet! I keep telling my husband that when he retires, I want to move to northern CA and raise alpacas. But seriously, what do I know about big hairy animals? I'll stick with cats. :)

Off topic: Ah yes, you have the whole alpaca scheme figured out proving once again that the "Thought of the Day" will play itself out, well, daily. ;)

Great story. I've always said when I get to heaven, one of the first things I'm going to do is dot Eve's eye. :)
