On my way home...
On my way home from work today I stopped at a used furniture shop. A few weeks ago I got several items there so I decided to try my luck again. This time I spent about the same amount but only got one item. I'll post a picture once I get it cleaned up.
When Lyle--the owner--and I were carrying the buffet out to my truck I noticed a lovely spider. It was just wrapping up a meal and I commented on how pretty it was. Lyle had been watching it during the day and said the meal was a beetle that had been caught just a few minutes before. Spiders wrap fast! In any case, here's the beaut that I photographed once the buffet was in the bed of my truck.

Thanks for the name, Judy. You're quite right.
I'm with you Sophie. Nothing gets a morning off to a worse start than walking out my back door and right into a spider web. Nasty!
Hey again, Heather. Nice to see you at the close of the day as well.
The hair is standing up on my arms and I have chills up and down my spine.
Uugg! You should see me when I teach the kids in Kindergarten about Bugs and Creepy Crawlers. I'm like that all month!

This spider photo is incredible. Though I admit I had to run back up to the top of your page to see just where you lived. I had to know if there was a chance of running into a spider like that in my neighborhood! I thought I was safe since you live so much farther south than me, but it turns out they range from lower Canada and throughout the 48 states. Did you know it's also called a zipper spider? The things you find with Google...
