Happy Birthday

Yesterday Kim and I went out and did some shopping. The goal? To find her a birthday present.

She veered towards the practical and decided on a new phone system for her house so we went to Best Buy to see what they had. Kim's current phones are kinda old and the batteries only last around 20 minutes so they really do need replacing.

The phone we really wanted to get was out of stock. It had a feature that would allow it to ring when your cell phone was called. Pretty handy since often your cell phone is on the other side of the house and you can't hear it ring. But since it wasn't available, the phone we did end up getting was very pretty and had 2 satellite phones and an answering machine. We also picked up 2 blouses at Old Navy---and they were real bargains.

Now I'm not going to tell you Kim's age since that would be impolite but AARP is after her now.

After that we went to a mall and had lunch at California Pizza Kitchen. We shared a pizza and it was the most food I've had at one time in 2 weeks. (I'm on a diet at doctor's orders) Caramelized onions and peppers plus goat cheese on whole wheat crust. It wasn't very big but after 3 weeks of eating very little, just 3 tiny slices of pizza had me filled right up. (and that pizza tasted soooo good!)

This is their description of the pizza: "Mild goat cheese with roasted red & yellow peppers, grilled Japanese eggplant, Mozzarella cheese, caramelized onions, Italian parsley and our tomato sauce"

By the way, I'm down 15 pounds but I still have another 10 to go. This not-eating gig isn't any fun at all. And just seeing that picture of the pizza is sending shivers through my very soul.

I''m glad she got some nice gifts that she needed! Happy Birthday to her. And, that pizza looks amazing!

How long has it taken you to lose the 15?

Because you're a man, I'm going to guess a week.

3 weeks but I'm stuck at 205. I can't seem to get down to 200 which is my immediate goal for my next doctor's visit (this coming Monday). Where I want to get down to is 195 and I'm giving myself 5 weeks to drop these last 10 pounds.

Your present investment in civilization is scant at best, so why the hell not?
