a hike along a lake

My girlfriend and I went on a hike around a lake today to try to burn off a few Kcals from a large breakfast. The water was beautiful, reflecting the blues of the sky as well as the remaining fall colors on the trees. In the picture above, a lone heron was keeping watch, ensuring the peace, as winter's inexorable approach continues abated only slightly by lovely days like this.

That is a lovely lake and a beautiful picture. All our trees here in Portland, Or are bare, bare, bare :( But we do have Blue Herons!

Enjoy your serenity and how lucky for you to have someone special to share it with. Makes a walk all the more enjoyable.

This looks very much like my favorite little park up in Williamsburg, complete with heron. Lovely.

Beautiful, Dave, and I wish I had been there. I spent the day decorating at the Capital City Club, but I know how nice it was outside.

Michele sent me.

I'm going to have to find the picture I got of a heron this summer. It's quite a coup that you managed to snag such a great picture of one: they normally don't appreciate humans encroaching on them.

You once again succeed in impressing with your lensmanship.
