Spring

Since we're moving towards Winter and those bleak landscapes that the cold brings, I thought I'd post a few pictures of the blooms that arrive with Spring.

I took these two pictures at a garden that a local TV station maintains next to their studios and office buildings. It's lovely all year round but in Spring it's particularly beautiful.

Often weddings are held in a tent next to the garden to partake in the lovely scenery. Sarah Duke Gardens, in nearby Durham, also has a lot of weddings in the Spring. It's even more beautiful there.

Pansies are probably my favorite flower but daffodils are close behind. There's so many beautiful flowers that it's hard to choose which ones to plant in ones own garden.

Hello, Michele sent me. Tulips are my personal fav. Thanx for the springy pics, just before the reality of winter sets in. Hey....just because I live in Houston, and winter temps here drop to a nippy 50 degrees, does not mean that I cannot appreciate the suffering of my Northern brothers and sisters. (insert smug smile here) You can poke fun at me next summer.........

Hello my friend!!! :o) I love pansies too! Whenever I see them I think of the singing flowers from the Disney Alice in Wonderland cartoon. They really do look like they have little faces on them!
This is my "Michele sent me" comment. :o)

Tiger, I love tulips also. I'm definitely ordering some bulbs. Tulips and daffodils and probably some day lillies.

Yaeli, they do look like faces--and pretty faces at that.

Those pansies are beautiful. They make me want to go back to Phipps and take more pictures of the fall flower show!

Lovely pictures. I want to take pictures of my garden too. I still have a few pretty flowers since we are having 23-25ºC during the day and we had some much needed rain this week. I agree with Star that these pics are much better than the ones from your strained ankle...sorry. Have a nice day!

Utenzi,
HHHMMM, stinky rub all over YOUR ankle. It probably would heal it for you. Mom says YOU'RE probably too far away for me to walk there & back before dinner though. :)
(You see, puddies are smarter than humans.)

TYou photos are lovely as always. But I have to say that I love winter and always look forward to it. It doesn't seem dead to me (except that all those nasty insects are gone); it seems clean and fresh. Plus there is always the chance you'll get paid "snow days"... those are the best!

I vote for winter. Call me crazy.

Utenzi: How wild that Michele led me to you here when I had planned to visit anyway! Glad you posted thses beautiful photos. Reminds me of the fact that Regis Philbin was actually married in Forestlawn Cemetery in L.A.--which is actually a beautiful setting.
