photoshop

I was playing some more in photoshop tonight. I wanted a new wallpaper for my desktop and so this is what I came up with...

If you click on it to get the bigger picture you'll get more of the effect. I've got an even bigger version on my computer since I keep my resolution at 1600x1200 and I don't want it to get grainy.

The spider is from a picture I took about a month ago outside a furniture shop. The backdrop of the 3 forms are a new lamp that my girlfriend bought at Target last night. I filtered it a little to give it a more "arty" look. A few fades in the background and some colorful shapes and I was done.

Pretty cool, though I'm not a big spider fan and a huge one on my computer screen would do little to make me feel confident. :-)

I really enjoy your bug pictures, though I know they are not popular with everyone. haha.

Michele sent me tonight, cause I am sulking.

Very artsy and scary. I think I was here before when you posted a spider pic. ewwww! Happy Friday and thanks for the visit!

Oh my! I'm not sure that's the first thing I'd want to see when I boot up my computer! Still, it's interesting what you manage to do with your pictures. Nice job!

Off topic here... but is there any way to stop Prickly's journey once you start him up? He's looking really tired!

Thanks, Teresa. I'm sure you do a pretty mean job in Photoshop also.

I wasn't going for scary, Mommy D but looking at it again I can see why you say that. If I'd have thought of it, I'd have given it a more Halloween theme. Maybe I'll do that later today. Thanks for the idea!

Lisa, I hope you're not sulking 'cause of anything I did! LOL I guess it's possible it was something at the political rally this evening.

Thanks Blond Girl but you really don't need external sources of confidence. Your loving husband of 7 years and the rest of your family as well as your own skills and abilities should do that. Some spider on a screen can't affect those things!

OK, the spider is creepy, but the photo is beautiful.

By the way, Michele sent me.

I enjoy reading these things. I am not done with you post yet because it is early in the morning and I think I saw a spider and had to quickly go down the page...thanks for your nice comments!

You sem to having so much fun with photoshop. I'm quite impressed. I've got a copy of it, but I've never really played around with it enough to get the kind of results you do. Keep it up.

Why do you keep doing this to me? If I had come across that spider, I would have fainted. It looks huge!

I saw a spider like that this week, when I was cutting ivy in the back yard. I really hate spiders!

Michele sent me this time, Utenzi. I have been asleep, but woke up and decided to check out the email before I go back to bed. What's your excuse for being up at 2:30?
Michelle said…
Fantastic! Very effective! The colors are great, however i prefer something a little less sinister as my wallpaper!

Judy, spiders fascinate me but I don't like it when I get their webs on me. That's just nasty! Happens all the time when I'm hiking back trails tho.

It's very rare for me to be asleep at 2:30 so no excuse to be given. During the week I usually go to be between 3am and 4. On weekends there's no telling.

Michelle, Thanks! I don't think of spiders as sinister though I'm sure their food does. I'm doing a picture now with a few flies in it. I bet that they'd agree with your assessment of spiders!

Ooh, I like this image. It speaks to me. I keep my 21-inch monitor at work cranked up at 1600x1200 as well. My colleagues think I'm nuts, but I can't live without all that real estate. Once you get used to big expanses, you just can't go back.

Thanks for the vision. It rocks.

If you ever want to export the full-res versions, I'd be proud to have 'em on my desktop here.

Excellent photo of the spider, and also nice handiwork in photoshop.

First time visit for me and already, I like what I see!

Thanks a ton for stopping by and leaving the nice comment.

I think that particular spider is the type that makes a very zig-zaggy, intricate web in garden shrubs. He's very cool but I wouldn't want him ON me.

Every year my son Dylan and I have been building our Halloween animatronic display. This year we added 12 new figures and my wife had been making the clothes etc. but then I clued in that Halloween Costumes were the ideal solution - ya, ok I'm slow but...This year is really cool because we've done an HP Lovecraft display that I'm sure he'd appreciate but I'm not so sure he'd approve of this - The Necronomicon - Is it just me or is that just plain goofy ? Anyway, everybody is doing their own Haunted House thing now but hey - it's fun and if you've got kids I really suggest you try it yourself if you haven't already. It's a nice change from the usual Christmas Lights routine and a lot of scaaarrry fun. Happy Halloween everybody.
I found a great wallpaper site and they are adding new stuff everyday. You might want to check them out. **wallpapers**

I was just browsing various blogs as I was doing a search on the word halloween, and I just wanted to say that I really like what you've done with your blog, even though it wasn't particularly related to what I searched for. I appreciate your postings, and your blog is a good example of how a blog should be done. I've only just recently started a Posters website - feel free to visit it when you get a chance if you wish. Much success, antonio.
